[Spring 2018 NYPT]

The year was 1968. Postage was 6 cents, Hey Jude was the top song, the Detroit Tigers were World Series Champions, Funny Girl, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Love Bug were in the movie theaters, and change was in the air.

1968 was also the year that National PTA created an arts program to help students around the country express their thoughts and ideas, promote artistic literacy, and find a love of learning through the arts. The National PTA Reflections program was born!

For 50 Years, NYS PTA has embraced and celebrated student artistry from all over New York with the Reflections program. These student artists captivate our minds and imaginations, by showing how they envision each theme.

Now, National PTA “challenges all PTAs to spark creativity and learning fun by hosting Reflections education activities for all students to participate in and learn through the arts,” and is celebrating with a new competitive grant.

Share how you will deliver Reflections educational activities to all children at your school to be considered for a $1,000 Reflections Grant!
