On behalf of families, NYS PTA is pleased with the Executive’s announcement of legislation to combat unsolicited robocalls and spam calls.
“Robocalls affect each and every family, often driving up phone bills, and lead to families ignoring numbers they do not recognize, missing critical calls that affect their children,” offered Lorey A. Zaman, President, NYS PTA. “Spammers now use local area codes, so the numbers appear to be local, however they are, more often than not, harassment and nuisance calls.”
“When avoiding robo and spam calls, parents and families may miss legitimate calls from doctors, schools, and other important service calls they may need to answer. We look forward to reviewing this legislation, which promises to help parents and families immensely,” added Executive Director Kyle Belokopitsky.
