Please see a brief statement below from the Programs Team about this year’s state-level winning PARP program:

The Literacy Committee would like to thank all the Regions that submitted their PARP applications for the school year 2022-23. As always we are so amazed at all the hard work and creativity that goes into making a great PARP program for our students. Interest and the love of reading builds on every child’s vocabulary, improves memory and communications skills, and provides a mode of independence as they continue to grow as students. This year Rensselaer Park Elementary was chosen as our winner for its PARP theme: “RPES Reads Around the Burgh” as it received the highest marks in the areas of how it supported reading amongst the school community, how the program was implemented to bring together the students, community, and parents as well as its overall creativity. We would like to also acknowledge Region 5, Flower Hill PTA for its submission: “Blast off the Reading” as it was a close second for all the attributes mentioned above.

Congratulations to all participants and the winner!!
