The NYS PTA Literacy Committee is thrilled to thank all the Regions that submitted their PARP applications for the 2023-24 school year! We are continually amazed by the incredible dedication, hard work, and creativity that go into crafting outstanding PARP programs for our students. Fostering a love of reading is vital, as it enriches every child’s vocabulary, boosts memory, enhances communication skills, and fosters independence as they grow.

This year, we are excited to announce that Region 5 – Suffolk- Lincoln Avenue PTA is our winner with their fantastic theme: “Unleash the Superhero in YOU!” This program stood out for its exceptional support of reading within the school community, its effective implementation to bring together students, families, and the broader community, and its overall creativity.

We also want to give a special shoutout to our state’s honorable mention, Region 4 – Central Hudson, Lakewood Elementary PTA, for their submission: “Reading is A Recipe for…..” Their program was a close second, excelling in all the same areas.

🎉 Congratulations to all participants, and a huge round of applause to our winners! Keep inspiring a love of reading in our students!
