Greg Rinckey

Greg is the Chair of Tully Rinckey’s Education Law practice, leading our team of attorneys who provide legal representation on various education and special education matters across New York State. Greg is also one of Tully Rinckey PLLC’s two founding partners. He worked with Founding Partner and fellow Hofstra University alum Mathew B. Tully in 2004 to build the firm from the ground up into the coast-to-coast, full-service firm that it is today.

Greg is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey and the District of Columbia. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association Committee on Veterans, and served two five-year terms on the Committee on Character and Fitness for the State of New York Appellate Division’s Third Judicial District. In this capacity, he personally interviewed prospective attorneys before they were allowed admission to the New York State Bar.

Greg served as a NYS Attorney for Children or Law Guardian for over 10 years and is very knowledgeable in IEP and 504 planning, as well as reasonable accommodations for Students.

Nancy Nissen, Esq.

Nancy Nissen, Esq., is a partner in Tully Rinckey’s White Plains, NY, office, and a member of the firm’s Education and Family & Matrimonial practice groups. She began her career as a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of New York. There, she handled matters related to family law, neglect, and abuse, and then went on to represent spouses and parents going through divorce and matters related to child custody and child support litigation, as well as all areas of matrimonial and family law.

Jillian Falt, Esq.

Jillian Falt, Esq., is an associate at Tully Rinckey’s White Plains, NY, office. Ms. Falt is renowned for her fastidious and caring approach to meeting clients’ needs. Moreover, her approach focuses on providing clients with unmatched care and insight. Her main priority is understanding a client’s objectives and tailors her counseling to those objectives when identifying, minimizing and resolving potential issues that can result in costly litigation or enforcement.

Bob Babcock, Esq.

Bob Babcock, Esq., is a partner in Tully Rinckey’s Albany, NY, office. He has a swath of experience with Education Law, having handled disciplinary investigations, inquiries and hearings at the high school and college level throughout New York state. Bob handles educational matters pertaining to Title IX compliance, student violations of school policies, and allegations of civil and criminal wrongful conduct against students, faculty and staff members.

Evangelos Dentes, Esq.

Evangelos Dentes, Esq., is an associate in Tully Rinckey’s Syracuse, NY, office. Evangelos graduated in 2023 from the Syracuse University College of Law. During his tenure there, he interned with several public and private entities, including the City of Syracuse handling Zoning Matters and Civil litigation against police officers, a boutique law firm in Washington, D.C. where he handled ITAR-related matters and civil litigation, and an international Contract Research Organization, where he conducted market research and contractual drafting.

Amanda Smith, Esq.

Amanda Smith, Esq., is a partner in Tully Rinckey’s Buffalo, NY, office. Prior to joining Tully Rinckey, Amanda was a Student Workforce Trainee for the Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation, in Washington, D.C. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the University at Buffalo Law School, where she provided legal academic research in international environmental principles as applied by the United States domestically and in foreign relations. Amanda also worked as a Student Legal Intern for the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement; was a Student Intern at the Department of Justice, U.S. Attorney’s Office in Buffalo; and was a Research and Teaching Assistant in the Niagara University Psychology Department, Niagara University, New York.

Shavani Naidu, Esq.

Shavani Naidu, Esq., is an associate in Tully Rinckey’s Manhattan, NY, office. Shavani has experience with Education Law, frequently advising and representing clients in Educational Discrimination cases, Higher Education and Special Education matters, including violations of school policies and procedures. Shavani’s extensive travels inspired the various community service projects she embarked on, from housebuilding in Cambodia to teaching in the Philippines and India. Growing up in South Africa, she developed a deep commitment to addressing the challenges of unpaid care work, which disproportionately affects women and young girls in disadvantaged communities, limiting their access to education and employment opportunities. Shavani is devoted to advancing gender equality in the workplace and empowering women to achieve independence and self-sufficiency. In her spare time, Shavani loves traveling and exploring new places with her friends and family, attending music festivals and concerts, keeping active by trying new workout classes throughout the city and doing yoga.
