The countdown is on to the Great PTA Sign Up Day on Wednesday, February 10. With 1 week to go, we are asking all units to join us in this effort. Our statewide goal for the day is to register 1250 new members.

Each week of the countdown, we offer tips and tools you can use to make the day a success.

Here is 1 thing you can do now to prepare for the Great PTA Sign Up Day:

Prepare to celebrate! Draft a thank you note to all your new members – email it directly to them and/or or post on your social media.

1/26/2021 – The Great PTA Sign Up Day – Only 2 Weeks to Go!

The countdown is on to the Great PTA Sign Up Day on Wednesday, February 10.

With 2 weeks to go, we are asking all units to join us in this effort. Our statewide goal for the day is to register 1250 new members. Each week we will offer tips and tools you can use to make the day a success.

Here are 2 things you can do now to prepare for the Great PTA Sign Up Day:

1. Take a look at your MemberHub store. NYS PTA will be directing potential members to the Search to Join link. Click the link and search for your unit. Open the link to your MemberHub Store and make sure all of the options for membership in your PTA are available. If you need help with your online store, please contact Dania Welch at the state office dwelch@nyspta.org.
2. Go for a two-fer! Register and pay for 10 new members in February and your unit will earn the Founders Day Award. Current members who recruit a new member to join and then comment about it on one of NYS PTA Founders Day Facebook posts will be eligible for a prize drawing for themselves and their PTA. The countdown is on to the Great PTA Sign Up Day on Wednesday, February 10. With 3 weeks to go, we are asking all units to join us in this effort. Our statewide goal for the day is to register 1250 new members. Each week we will offer tips and tools you can use to make the day a success.

Here are 3 things you can do now to prepare for the Great PTA Sign Up Day:

1. Do you know the simple 3-letter word that is the secret to membership success? It’s ASK! Countless surveys over the years have all concluded that the main reason that people join PTA is that they were ASKed.
2. Check out this quick video from National PTA on running a successful virtual membership campaign and the importance of your “ASK”- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u59SNIk5frg&feature=emb_logo
3. Brainstorm with your team what your “ASK” message will be and who will be on your “ASK” list. Think other parents, grandparents, administration, school board members, local businesspeople and professionals like pediatric and dental office staff and elected officials. Start sharing your “ASK” message on your social media and in your communications with your school families.

The countdown is on to the Great PTA Sign Up Day on Wednesday, February 10. With 4 weeks to go, we are asking all units to join us in this effort. Our statewide goal for the day is to register 1250 new members. Over the next four weeks, we will provide you with all the tips and tools you need to make the day a success.

Here are 4 things you can do now to prepare for the Great PTA Sign Up Day:

1. Mark your calendar for Wednesday, February 10 and share the date with your PTA Board.
2. Customize your Membership Goal Thermometer showing your unit’s progress toward your annual membership goal.
3. Start thinking about how you can promote the Great PTA Sign Up Day in your community.
4. Gather a team of 2-3 (or more) membership cheerleaders to assist you.

This week, New York State PTA will start spreading the word about the Great PTA Sign Up Day by way of social media, emails and press releases to local media outlets. We would appreciate it if you would share our social media posts on any of the platforms your unit uses.
