🎉 Congratulations to the 2025 NYS PTA Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Award recipient – Frank K. Cannon Southeast Elementary PTA in the Brentwood School District, Suffolk Region! 🎉
At Southeast Elementary, the PTA proudly ensures every meeting and communication is conducted in both Spanish and English, reflecting the school’s vibrant, predominantly Hispanic community.
This year, they hosted their first-ever Multicultural Night — a huge success celebrating unity and belonging through:
🌎 A multicultural flag banner
📖 Reading We All Belong in English and Spanish
🎨 Multicultural murals and flag paintings
🧸 Cultural raffles and diversity dolls
Their collaboration with administrators, parents, and staff extended to PARP activities and Multicultural Mindful Meditation, fostering connection and inclusivity across the school community.
💬 As the PTA shared, “Our aim is to promote unity in our school. We want everyone to feel a sense of belonging while celebrating our unique similarities.”
