Educating your community about the importance of saving for higher education can be woven into your meetings, information fairs, and other events. We have a number of resources to assist you in sharing this important message.

Our local plan representatives are a valuable information resource. These knowledgeable professionals can answer questions that parents and community members might have on saving for higher education. You can call on a Direct Plan representative to:

• Lead webinars and workshops on saving for higher education.
• Speak at meetings.
• Staff a table at a PTA meeting or community fair to promote saving for higher education.
• Discuss 529 plans at other events your organization sponsors.

There is no enrollment period for the NY 529 Direct Plan.  Anyone can open NY 529 accounts at any time.

To take advantage of the annual NYS income tax deduction for your NYS 529 contributions, contributions must be made by December 31.
